Debate House of Commons & Lords on Draft British Nationality Act 1981 (Remedial) Order 2019


Despite pressure from the Joint Committee on Human Rights in their report and follow-up reports to the Home Office, on the continued denial of citizenship by descent from BOT Dad's to their children born out of wedlock. It is clear the British government have no desire to allow this matter to be added to this remedial order. Instead, they are continuing down the slow path of possibly introducing separate legislation; when remains a mystery!

We sincerely hope they (Home Office) will get their act together, and bring forth legislation now, so this hurtful discrimination can be fixed, thereby placing BOT children & fathers on the same equal footing as mainland UK fathers & children.
