It's a beautiful feeling that after all the campaigning, to finally arrive, come home, and have the other part of your D.N.A. officially recognized and validated. It has been an honor to have fought hard to open these doors for me and many others. No child, born out of wedlock or at the wrong time in history, should ever be made to feel unwelcome or rejected by countries. A child must be able to claim her/his heritage through both parents. Politicians should not mess with these rights depending on which party is in power. Taking scissors and cutting away one part of a child's D.N.A. and the Family tree is simply not morally correct.
Going forward, I will continue to do what I can to ensure children like me are recognized and not shut out.
